Sunflower Oil – organic – cold pressed
Sunflower Oil – Cold Pressed
This premium sunflower oil is obtained by mechanically cold-pressing the seeds of Helianthus annuus without the use of high heat or chemical solvents, thus preserving its full spectrum of nutrients. The result is a light, versatile oil celebrated for its exceptional skin compatibility and nutritional profile.
Its primary distinction lies in its fatty acid composition, which is remarkably high in linoleic acid (an omega-6 essential fatty acid), typically comprising 48–74% of its content. This makes it particularly effective for skin barrier support, as linoleic acid is a key component of ceramides and helps the skin synthesize its own lipids to restore and strengthen its protective function. As a result, sunflower oil is a powerful emollient that deeply hydrates, soothes irritation, and is especially beneficial for dry, dehydrated, or environmentally stressed skin. Clinical evidence supports its efficacy in reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and improving hydration in conditions like xerosis and atopic dermatitis
Rich in vitamin E and other antioxidants, it also acts as a protective agent against free radical damage. Its lightweight texture and rapid absorption make it an ideal carrier oil and a staple ingredient in a wide array of skincare, haircare, and personal care formulations.
